POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Etiquette

To ensure a meaningful experience for all children and their parents/caregivers it is important to maintain a quality environment for all who attend. We ask your assistance with the following:

  • Treat all with respect and kindness.
  • No throwing of objects unless involved in a supervised activity with the PLAY Educator.
  • When other children are in need or you feel are acting inappropriately, please seek out the child’s parent or a PLAY Educator for support.
  • During parent attended activities, please assist your child in any spills or other accidents.

Parent Expectations

During playtimes where it is noted PARENT ATTENDANCE REQUIRED:

  • Socks for children, parents and anyone in the PLAYSpace.
  • NO OUTSIDE FOOD. In order to ensure the health and safety of children with food allergies, please refrain from bringing in outside food.
  • Parents are ultimately responsible for the care and well being of their children. The PLAY Educators are not intended to “baby sit, watch or care for” the children during these playtimes.
  • The age and stage of development of your child will determine the level of parent supervision and interaction that will be needed from you. Though many of the programs do not depend on parent participation, to ensure a quality environment for all we do require parent involvement when needed.
  • The Wee Garden area will be available and age appropriate materials will be provided. Parents of “crawlers” will need to be watchful of their children.
  • There is a designated changing area for children in diapers. To keep the environment pleasant for all, children in soiled diapers will be given to parents for changing. Parents can take older children to the restroom as needed.
  • There are designated areas for children to eat snacks. To maintain the cleanliness of the facility and be aware of food allergies, we ask that children remain in these areas with food.
  • The Stroller Parking area is OUTSIDE under the covered area.
  • There are designated baskets for sanitizing items that have gone into children’s mouths. Parents are asked to use them to prevent the spread of germs.
  • We ask that parents help reinforce the PLAY policies and rules with their children.

During playtimes where it is noted PARENT ATTENDANCE NOT REQUIRED:

  • Pre-registration is required. Space will be limited depending upon the program.
  • Children are signed in/out of our daily attendance log. This will help to ensure maximum security. Children are to be picked up at the departure time listed for each program.
